Community Involvement


Ways We Currently Support the Community.

In His Name-Colleton offers supportive services every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. These services are designed to assist individuals who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in need of basic necessities. Resources for the community are available at our office located at 214 Wichman Street open every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Resources such as:

  • Free meals to anyone in need; specifically the homeless, the elderly, and those without transportation.

  • Emergency food/hygiene pantry

  • Hygiene & food bags & backpacks for the homeless

  • Showers / laundry assistance for the homeless

  • Referral services for clothes

  • Assist with finding jobs and assistance with obtaining vital documentation such as social security cards, identification cards, birth certificates

  • Resources for domestic violence and sexual assault victims (partnering with Hopeful Horizons)

  • Mental health and drug addiction resources (partnering with Coastal Empire Mental Health and Colleton Pillars4Hope)

  • Assistance with acceptance into a rehab program or back to their family in another location. (partnering with Walterboro Police Department)

  • Member of Lowcountry Continuum of Care Governing Council to assist with supportive services for those experiencing homelessness and at risk of homelessness in Colleton County.

  • Free monthly laundry day sponsored by local churches, businesses, families.

  • Annual Free Community Dinner at Christmas (served over 550 meals in 2023)

  • Assists with feeding volunteers from Mission Serve every summer.

  • Direct Street Outreach Program: meeting the homeless where they are to provide supportive resources.

    Our Direct Street Outreach Program plays a key role in reaching out to people who are unsheltered. It connects them with emergency shelters, housing, and critical services while also providing urgent, non-facility-based care to those who are unable or unwilling to access traditional shelter or healthcare services.
